If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Today is Halloween and since I dream about flying around with Superman while I sleep on his pillowcase at night I thought I'd be Lois Lane. Here's another teacher, Sam who is Elvis. He actually always wears his hair like that everyday, he just wore an outfit to go along with his hair.

This is one of my students Dennis who loves paintballing. This is what he wears. He's such a funny kid. I totally get a kick out of him.

The four HS classes decorated pumpkins yesterday for spirit points. This is a pumpkin made to look like our chemistry teacher because he always wears this tie-dyed lab coat.
Scuba pumpkin.

This pumpkin is sick and threw up. It was my favorite. I voted for it but it didn't win first place.

This one's a baby.

Halloween Fun

Halloween is one of the best times of year. Why you ask? Because you get to dress up as someone else. Kristine had an idea to be brides. I was a "shotgun wedding bride." Can you tell I'm pregnant? Jared was a stick figure. I LOVE IT.

Out of this group we have 80's bride, God's gift to woman, a bum, biker chick, Glinda the Good witch, stick figure, Palmer's girl and a shotgun wedding bride.
Rob was God's Gift to Woman.
The four brides were, 80's bride, shotgun wedding bride, runaway bride, and tacky Vegas bride.
Tacky Vegas bride and Runaway bride.
Can you tell I'm pregnant?
It was a fun night. Should I dye my hair dark? People were suggesting it. Give me your thoughts. I don't like to do anything that cause upkeep. I've only dyed my hair once before, bright pink in college. Well there was the "kool-aid incident" in 8th grade.

Carving Pumpkins

For FHE tonight (yes I do attend now) we carved pumpkins . So, Jared and I headed to Safeway and he picked out the LARGEST pumpkins they had.

In order to transport them we had to restrain them with seatbelts so they wouldn't cause mischief in the back seat.

Jared's pumpkin is sneezing on mine.
My pumpkin is winking.

I'm trying to copy the wink.

Casey's show

Last night Jared and I headed up to S.F. to see an Art Show that Casey was involved in. It had been a year in the works. The show consisted of Oakland artists. Then after, as usual we went to Tu Lan for dinner. It was yummy.

Before we headed to the show I showed Jared around Yerba Buena and we read Martin Luther King Jr. quotes behind the water fall.

Emily and Amanda (Casey's GF who's also an artist) were at the show also.

My brother Sam was also there because he's Casey's roommate.

We found a giant human kaleidoscope. I took photos until the guard came over to scold us.

Casey's sloppy shoes.

Casey and Amanda are so cute.

The Piano

The piano at school fell over and broke, so the principal sledgehammered it and threw it into the dumpster. Naturally I could use it for art. So, I gathered a couple of students to jump into the dumpster and gather parts.

We salvaged what we could.
I started putting the keys together. It was fun. Then a student suggested that we glue the keys to the wall. There might be piano updates in the future.

Coincidence

While I was out on my run/walk/jog/skip/gallop on Saturday, I happened to see the man across the street who was sitting next to me on the airplane coming back from New York. I wanted to say to him, "thanks for being so kind to me after I threw-up." Yeah, I got a little sick on the plane.

But, he was across the street and I was running or rather jogging and I didn't want to interrupt him while he was on his merry way. I did however, happen to snap a shot of him, since I take my camera everywhere.

Just kidding. That's Tom Hanks. Do you really think that I would take my camera running?

GOONIES!

Goonies was playing at midnight at the Aquarius in downtown PA. It is one of my favorite movies in the entire world.Rob and I were involved in the trivia contest. I WON!

I won a pack of Goonies trading cards with gum and a free movie ticket. I think the gum is from 1985 because it's really hard.
At midnight we dumped glitter on Emily so begin her 30th birthday festivities that will go on all month.
She was a good sport since I forgot that she hates glitter (it's a long story.)

NYC/NJ in October

I headed to NYC this weekend. Well, actually it's now New Jersey since Emma and Lee moved across the border/river to the Garden State. Jared and I flew in Friday evening to Newark. It was so fun to have someone on the plane with me. I haven't flown with someone for just about 10 years it feels like.

This is what I woke up to in the morning. Smiling nephews.
Well, I actually woke up to Johnny yelling, "I NEED MILK!" Here he is thinking about smiling.

He decided to after a handful of "5 or 10" raisins.
Jared and I hopped on the NJ Transit early Saturday morning to NYC to watch the JP Morgan race that Google participated in

It turns out Google got 3rd place. Wahoo!

Wandering around NYC

It sure was fun having someone to wander around NYC with me. Usually I just tackle it alone.

Jared in NYC.
We stopped by FAO Swartz to get a b-day present for his sister and happened upon Darth Vader.

Central Park is so beautiful in the Fall. We walked around it a bit and enjoyed the peace from the noisy city.
Then we checked out Ground Zero. I haven't ever really been there. I wondered what it was like with the Twin Towers. I bet it was a lot busier. Very sad.
I kept explaining to Jared how disappointed I was when I saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time a couple of years ago. It's so small compared to how they portray it in the movies.
Jared on the subway.
We tried on shoes in Soho.Oops!
