I decided to paint my school desk yesterday which meant it was time to be cleaned out and organized. This is the infamous "Ms. Petty's junk drawer."
STUDENT: "Ms. Petty do you have a pencil...scissors...ruler...glue...paperclip?"
ME: "Yes in my drawer."
STUDENT: "Ummm...Ms. Petty...????"
ME: "Just shuffle around...you'll find it...eventually."
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Faculty room Fun

People continue to make fun of my sunglasses, but yet love to wear them. Here is Drew (a fellow teacher) doing his best rendition of Elton John.

My little friend
I went on a nice 26 mile ride yesterday. Had a lot of anguish that I needed to peddle out. Decided to go up Old La Honda which is a rigorous (for me) 3.2 mile climb. I met a banana slug that asked for a lift, I had to reply with, "I'm sorry that I can't stop or else I won't be able to start again." Then it asked for a drink so I squirted it with my waterbottle. Some people (ahem slugs) are so grateful for just the simplest of acts.

Ride
A former friend of mine and I went on a 40 mile bike ride on Saturday. It was hot and glorious and tiring. I got up to 38 mph. Probably not a good idea. i was wearing my Google jersey (thanks Jared) and some guys thought I was super rich and worked for Google. They were asking about my other bikes. I failed to mention that I was just a poor art teacher. Can anyone say, "poser?"

Berkeley vs. Stanford

My brother Sam graduated from Berkeley last Wednesday. Well, his official department graduation is this week. He is double majoring in French and Cultural Anthropology in Honors.
My mom wore red to show her Stanford pride.

New Friends
New friends are soo much fun. Here's Amanda with her sweet new glasses.
Jerrà and I eating a delicious dinner with Amanda at the Woodside bakery. A fun little place to develop new friendships after boxing class.

The biggest challenge
One of the biggest challenges is getting a photo of Jared.
The next photo has been removed due to an unsastified friend who was not happy with the shot. The sole purpose of the removal was to retain a cherished friendship and avoid swings in our next boxing class.
