If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Memorial Day Blasts! (literally)

Yesterday I was lured into watching a Civil War Reenactment in the Santa Cruz mountains. Yes, it was loud, weird and loud. I was a little disapointed not to see any blood. I think the highlight of the day was when Clark yelled out, "The Feds are cheating." Yes, there were several shots with no one going down. We did have to remember way back in 5th grade learning about the war and how inaccurate their weaponry was.

We met some very interesting people who actually did this for their everday life. I think some of them believe that they live in 1863 and need to wear the 80 lbs of wool in 90 degree weather. Needless to say, our group was a little out of place with the styling of our attire.

Getting in the mood.

We had to BEG Jared not to buy this Confederate hat. He thought that he could sneak into the battle with it on.

Invasion of personal space

I was just trying to get comfortable and of course these boys felt the need to squish me in the heat.

Saturn Cafe

Jared, Travis, Amanda and I headed to Santa Cruz to eat at the Saturn Cafe. It is a great experience, with rockin' music and a great atmosphere which makes up for the not-so-delicious veggie burger (according to Amanda.) Each table is a display box full of lots of random finds. I added something of my own to one of the tables. If you want to know what it was you'll have to take me there for lunch sometime and I'll show you.

CHEEEEEESE!

One of the best parts of the day was seeing, the coolest (hands down) girl from S.F. It's always a treat to hang out with Rebecca.

Sunday Fun

Today was such a gorgeous day...I decided to take advantage. First I went on a motorcycle ride with my friend Garrett, (don't worry Dad I wore a helmet and he's a safe driver.) The day was perfectly clear and we could see the ocean and the S.F. bay at the same time while riding along Skyline. Then Sarah and I headed to Lake Logunita on Stanford campus to catch frogs, and theeeeen Emily and I went and walked the dish. After we headed to a BBQ and off to the "pink house" (where Travis, Jesse and Jared live) to have some of Travis's much anticipated lemon sorbet. After that Jerrí and Amanda came over for midnight fun.

We didn't make it to dry ground so we attempting to trek it but got stuck in the mud... Sarah lost her balance and, well you get the point.

Last night I felt like cooking. So Travis (an amazing chef himself), Jared and Amanda came over to enjoy it.
Menu
-Pork Tenderloin with a mushroom, cream and dry Sherry sauce
-Tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil salad
-Couscous
-Broiled Asparagus
-Blood-Orange soda from TJ's

It turned out well.

Guacamole

I love the color combination of this guac and blue corn chips.

Mom and me

Hung out with Laura, Emily and Clark (first time on the blog.) Laura made sherbert and it went on the floor. Here's Emily and Clark trying to salvage it.

The last of the bunch

My parents now have four college graduates. My brother Sam graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major in Cultural Anthropology and French with Honors.

Aunts and Uncles are the best

Aunt Rachelle was responsible for the beautiful center piece for Sam's grad luncheon.

Hudson is full of smiles all the time. He loves to growl and talk ALL the time. He is the most pleasant baby. He also loves to give kisses.
